2025 Nissan Frontier Brings Fresh Styling and Technology Updates

The latest generation Nissan Frontier, the third generation, debuted in 2021 as a 2022 model and quickly became one of the best trucks on the market. Now for 2025, the Frontier is getting some fresh updates and upgrades to keep it competitive against a growing list of all-new trucks on the market.

A Familiar Motor, But More Towing Ability

One thing that will remain the same for 2025 is the venerable 3.8-liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard on all trim levels and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels also stay the same, including S, SV, PRO-4X, and SL. The 2024 model was able to tow up to 6,270 lbs. However, Nissan has upgraded the Frontier to now tow as much as 7,150 lbs. when properly optioned and equipped. All 2025 Frontier models can tow roughly 500 extra lbs. more and can still be optioned with a 6-foot bed. Pricing starts from $32,050, plus a $1,510 destination and handling fee.

A Better Off-Road Experience

2025 Frontier PRO-4X buyers will notice tweaks to the Intelligent Around View Monitor that make the system more effective. The Off-Road Mode function can be used while traveling up to 12 mph, making it even easier for owners to maneuver on tight off-road courses. The off-road Frontier also receives a new electronic locking differential for improved traction on various surfaces and Lava Red tow hooks. Active Brake Limited Slip is now standard on all trim levels.

More Standard Safety and Optional Features

From S all the way up to the SL trim levels, the Frontier now comes standard with extra safety and technology that includes Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The SL trim also gets Traffic Sign Recognition. With the unique available Utili-Track bed system, the Frontier gives owners adjustable tie-down cleats, an optional spray-in bedliner, and an available 120-volt power outlet.

More Luxury 

The top-of-the-line SL trim offers buyers a more luxurious interior package that includes leather-appointed front and rear seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED exterior lighting, and a 10-speaker Fender Premium Audio system.
